Before i get into the meat of this post, i want to give you just a small background on who I am and where I am comming from.
I started playing DAOC about a month after initial release and since my friends said they needed a bard, I bit the bullet and picked a class I didn't really have much interest in. When I started playing that bard in higher levels ( around 27 at the time was high level) I found that I was very pleased with my choice of class and by the time i was 50 I absolutely loved being a bard.
I was enthralled in the concept of a CC class, I loved getting that mezz off, and kill spam meant little or nothing to me. I started what is now called "ganking" before people called it that on my server, about 4 months into release, just after I made 50, and got to R5 very quickly this way, which was quite rare at the time. I made it to be the #3 bard on guinevere and my friends who I picked up the bardic trade for decided they wanted to reroll Midgard, because midgard on our server was very weak and needed leadership, and we thought we could help them get back on their feet.
After 2 months, realizing midgard wasnt for us, I came back to hib and became an eld, after making Thunderer, I decided that I wanted to go back to CC, but figured since I already tried the bard game and that sorcerers could CC and do damage like my eld, I decided to try albion.
After rolling my sorc and getting him to Rank 6 in 3 weeks, I realized a lot about CC and bards that I didn't know even when i played the bard class. This experiance as a sorcerer will come back up in a minute.
After making R6, it was around august and i had to leave for my freshman year of college, and wasn't willing to sink so much time into DAOC and cancelled my account. 7 months later, i reopened my account, and rolled a bard to get back to my roots.

**********************************************
Right now I am R5L1 after a few weeks of playing in my new guild on guin, and I realized one important point:
I make the same complaints about my bard that i made two years ago!!!
Not only have the old complaints remained, but new ones showed up, and are as follows:
-Bards got Instamezzes 7/8 months after release after healers had them since release and still have root/stun/ae stun/ae instastun over us.
-Mid groups are able to run 2 or 3 of their main CC in one group at a time where as bards can only run one.
-Secondary CC'rs do better than bards in most CC situations, especially in new frontiers where shamans will have 2 immunity timers (ichor and spec AE root), and minstrels have always had mezzes AND stuns.
-Shamans are a secondary healer that makes up for the lack of single healing ability with a group friggs spell that greatly raises their healing viability, while bards get a song where the bar moving is barely noticable
-The resist chants put in this game to make bards better have dont nothing.
-Firbolg bards are outcasted because the increase to both their stats does absolutely nothing for a bard, since we cant melee and increased empathy does jack for us.
-We only have 1 immunity timer and 1 CC type, where as even secondary CC do not, and after new frontiers, sorcerers will have 3 CC immunity timers with Ichor, Root and Mezz.
-All I do is get end up and kite.
-The new bard specific RA is a joke compared to RAs such as our counterpart, the sorcerer's class specific RA.
This list is, i am sure, very incomplete, which is sad. It is sad that our class has so many flaws and imperfections that we can write a list this long and it be so incomplete. What is even more pathetic is the feedback dev's give bard TLs after these flaws are pointed out. This can be viewed here:
pub7.ezboard.com/fnatures...ID=6.topic
Reading this made my heart sink, as i saw all of the flaws with bards that have been in the game for over two years still exist, and mythic has no intention of fixing them. In example, Tiralle brings up the fact that the nurture line has nothing but passive abilities in it, more than half of which are useless. The Dev responds with, in short, "Bards are just a different type of fun"
I'm sorry, but bards are just not a different type of fun. Healers are all-in-all support, and playing one is most definitely not boring or repulsive in any respect.
What angers me more is reading over the healer TL report, which is remarkably shorter, and found here:
www.drunkenfriar.com/foru...php?t=1474
If you read this TL report, you see that it is much shorter, and one of the healers points is actually "Mending - No new requests..." But what is more shocking is that the dev takes into account a problem with celerity, an already overpowered ability, in my opinion, and says they are still considering on what to do with that spell in regard to its viability, a spell that only effect augmentation healers, which is very few compared to the amount of bards of ALL specs struggling to play their class.
( Start reading here if you just wish to hear my protest proposal )
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
These points, among many others have led me to the following conclusion:
It is time for action.
Mythic has been pushing us aside for not one patch, not just a few months, but for years. I have left the class for over a year and came back to be making the SAME and MORE complaints about the bard class. I think it is time mythic buckled down and finally helped us.
Right now, the only protests I can see is an organized flooding of the mythic feedback form on www.camelotherald.com, stating these points in full from every bard and hibernian realm member willing to help this protest. Also, I would like to organize a protest on pendragon sometime in the future to fix the bard class.
We have been standing to the side long enough. It's time for a change.
Thank you for your time.
