I'm fairly new to DAoC (second time around), and am currently levelling a Warden up. I really like the Warden PvE, but RvR he seems pretty useless really. I played a Bard for years in EQ and am considering a Bard in DAoC because of their use in RvR. However, after talking to friends and reading forums on the net, it seems Bards really suck atm. It would be hard to go from a class the devs didn't like in EQ to the same class in a new game which the devs also seem to not care about.

I don't like the fact you have to instrument twist; I don't like that you must equip instruments (in EQ we got our epic to replace the need for instrument twisting, and the songs seemed more logically structured anyway ie. all the most important songs during combat were Percussion etc. so the need to instrument twist was minimal); and I sure don't like that it's near to impossible to solo - in EQ Bards were great solo. With DAoC being made by people essentially taken out of the original EQ development team, I don't know how they managed to get the Bard so wrong (the EQ Bard was a great template to build upon).

But gripes aside, I wanted to get opinions from those currently playing them:

Should I start a Bard? Is it worth the pain?
